The extravagantly coloured fish artwork as seen on this extra large oval platter was originally created by Louis Renard for his 1719 publication “Poissons, écrevisses et crabes…”. Now, the artwork has been recreated on the earthenware platter using a combination of techniques including hand-sponging, painting and pipette drops that results in a stunning multi-layer montage. The high-quality earthenware platter is made in a family-owned factory in Italy, where the decorating skills have been handed down through the generations.
